That would leave it susceptible to gusty winds, surprise downpours, and lazy summer afternoon naps. While most any size awning can operate manually, a motor will make your life that much easier. Larger awnings require more effort as you may have guessed. While it’s not absolutely imperative, an awning larger than 16′ wide x 10’6″ projection should have a motor.
